I'll Take It From Here

verse:

Thanks for letting me fall face down into your arms again,

Sorry I tried to live alone.

Thanks for letting me crawl back to you on my knees again,

Sorry I'm nothing without you.

I couldn't get through...

Chorus:

Just give me one more shot,

I'll give it all I've got,

Don't you worry now,

I will take it from here.

All I ask is that you just pretend,

That we can start all over again,

And don't you worry now,

I will take it from here.

verse:

Thanks for popping my feelings back into place again,

I had a dislocated heart.

All that it takes is just one lame mistake,

To shatter the things that we had yet to break,

And then it's gone.

We're left alone.

bridge:

Recall all the defects of your broken mind,

It's a long walk to make up for all the wasted time.

Picking up where "Fallout" left off, "I'll Take It From Here" is an energetic venture into pop-rock territory.  The heavy riffing was influenced by the music of Jimmy Eat World and Weezer, and the vocal melodies are a combination of the two.  These different elements have come together to form a song that only Pond Monkeys could write.

The song features a tasteful solo by Derek Wright as well as a thumping beat provided by Austin.  Daniel provides the backbone to the song with funky bass notes.  Alex wrote the lyrics, and the song was debuted at the 2002 Little Balkans Day in Pittsburg, KS.
